Discovery of aphantasia

Never knew what aphantasia was, always thought it was normal to not be able to visually see images/scenes in my mind. Nothing – just a lonely emptiness, a void of thoughts.

Still, I am capable of describing dreams, scenarios and visions that lingers across my mind – but never been able to see these exhilarating visions with my own mind’s eyes. A mental blindness that cannot be cured – missed opportunities that awaits for my arrival undone and the ability to dreamwalk in the world I long for.

My perspective of aphantasia is that I can describe vague details, feel the scenes and hear my surroundings but yet never capable of living it. Blindness for the mind, limits I cannot overcome.

Surely being the 0.8-1% of the population is alright. Something I can brag about at least, but I do wish I could see the world I dream of.
